Sunburst Tourism Campaign

 

The Sunburst Campaign for Visit Tri-Valley demonstrates the power behind a single piece of artwork and its ability and potential to multiply and evolve across numerous channels. For tourism group Visit Tri-Valley in the wine country of Northern California, creativity knows no limits when it comes to promoting all the local sights and activities in Pleasanton, Livermore, Dublin, and Danville, CA. 

The scale, power, and potential of a small one-off print ad became the initial seedling for what would become a fully integrated traditional and digital ad campaign. A word cloud of names, phrases, and characteristics unique to Tri-Valley were imagined in a sunburst

shape while the text and spot illustrations were rendered with hand-lettered flair. The resulting artwork captures the lively, approachable, and eclectic personality of the popular tourist region with all its arts, culture, and small town charm. With ideas stirring and room to expand upon the artwork, the sunburst artwork became the narrative for Visit Tri-Valley's entire Spring/Summer 2016 and 2017 brand campaigns, applied to event signage, visitor's guide covers, merchandise, social media, and editorial design.
